Since 1977, the Fairfield Economic Development Association (FEDA) has been a cornerstone in our community's building process. FEDA is governed by a seven-member Board of Directors that works closely with local community development organizations, financial institutions, businesses, industries, as well as agencies and elected officials in local, county, state and federal government.

Lori Schaefer

Lori Schaefer-Weaton, President, Director

Lori is currently the Director of Business Development for Agri-Industrial Plastics. Lori graduated from Fairfield High School in 1985. She then attended and graduated from Valparaiso University, IN, in 1990 with an Accounting degree and a Marketing/Communications minor. In 1998 Lori completed an executive MBA program at Northwestern University.

Upon graduation Lori began her career with Comdisco, Inc. a Fortune 100 Technology Services Company in Chicago. She started in the international accounting division, was a manager in the finance department, then was an equipment trader and most recently was in their strategic planning division.

Lori is a member of First Presbyterian Church of Fairfield, and sits on the Iowa Association of Business and Industry Board and Executive Committee. In addition, she sits on the Advisory Committee for Project Lead the Way in Fairfield. Lori is married to Nate Weaton and they have five children: Cami, Jack, Abby, Max, and Sam.

Jody Kerr

Jodi Kerr, Treasurer

Jodi was born and raised in Sigourney, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with her bachelor's degree in accounting and started her career as a CPA in Fairfield at TD&T Financial Group P.C. (formerly Theobald, Donohue & Thompson, P.C.) in July 1988. She has been a partner in the firm since January 2006.

Jodi has been very involved in the community. She served on the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors for eight years, serving as president in 2001. She is currently very active in the Fairfield Rotary Club (current secretary), the Education Foundation of Fairfield Public Schools (current president), the Birmingham United Methodist Church (current treasurer) and serves as a director on the board of First National Bank in Fairfield.

"Fairfield has proven to be a great community in which to live, establish a career and raise a family. I'm so grateful this is where I settled after college and I always welcome any opportunity to be involved with the continued growth and betterment of Fairfield and the surrounding area."

Jodi and her husband, Mickey, enjoy following the activities of their daughters, Courtney and Hanna, as well as all other Fairfield sports.

Art Sathoff

Art Sathoff

Fairfield Community School District, Superintendent

Art Sathoff serves the Fairfield Community School District as superintendent. He previously served, for two years, as the Farifield High School principal. He and his wife of 22 years, Cindy, grew up in northern Iowa but have made Southeast Iowa their home since 1990. The Sathoffs have two sons, twenty-one-year-old Jordan, who will graduate from college this spring; and eighteen-year-old Trey, who will graduate from high school this spring. Art and Cindy enjoy following their sons' activities and being active members of their church.

Art was a 1984 graduate of Iowa Falls High School and a 1988 graduate of Wartburg College. He began a teaching and coaching career in Fairfax, MO in 1988, earned his M.A. in English literature from the University of Northern Iowa in 1993, and earned principal licensure from Drake in 2001 and 2004. He also completed a licensed minister's program through the Christian Church of the Upper Midwest.

Art is pleased to have the opportunity to serve on the FEDA board and really values the opportunity to make community connections. He strongly believes that community economic development and world class schools go hand in hand and looks forward to continuing to partner with the community.

Frank Fritz

Chief Financial Officer and Corporate Secretary/Treasurer, Dexter Apache Holdings, Inc.

Frank Fritz was born in Washington, Iowa and assumed a spot on the FEDA Board in his 14th year with Dexter. A Coe College graduate, Fritz grew up on a small family farm near the Pleasant Plain and Brighton area. He relocated to Fairfield in 1994 following 13 years as a staff accountant at McGladrey & Pullen in Cedar Rapids and a year as CFO of Johnson Gas Appliance Company.

Fritz is a member of the First National Bank of Fairfield, Iowa Board of Directors and is a former director of the Fairfield Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield Golf & Country Club and the Iowa Chapter of the ESOP Association. He is a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church, Fairfield Golf & Country Club, and Fairfield Elks Lodge. He and his wife, Julie, are the parents of a daughter, Samantha, 10.

"The opportunity to help contribute the growth and stability of the Fairfield economy by serving on the FEDA board is an honor. Dexter has a long history of community involvement in economic development in Fairfield and I'm glad to be in a position to continue that work," said Fritz.

Daniel Sullivan

Senior Vice President, Marketing, Cambridge Investment Research, Inc.

Dan Sullivan serves as Senior Vice President of Marketing at Cambridge Investment Research, Inc. – a nationally recognized independent Broker/Dealer with more than $20 billion assets under administration. Mr. Sullivan joined Cambridge in July 2006 with 34 years of experience in the financial services industry. At Cambridge, Mr. Sullivan is particularly focused on expanding Cambridge's Practice Management area to help Rep/Advisors build their businesses. Additional responsibilities include supervisory duties over the Cambridge Asset Allocation Program, Corporate Communications, Product Services, Sales and Public Relations. Mr. Sullivan is registered with FINRA as a General Securities Representative, General Securities Principal, and Municipal Bond Principal. He is also a Registered Investment Advisor and holds various insurance licenses. His designations include Certified Financial Planner™, Chartered Life Underwriter, and Chartered Financial Consultant.

In addition to his role at Cambridge, Mr. Sullivan has been President of Spectrum Financial Group, Inc. since 1992. Spectrum Financial specializes in three key areas: Corporate Retirement Plans including TPA services, Investment Management, and Comprehensive Planning for high net worth families through their Life Strategies Program. For 25 years, Mr. Sullivan earned the ranking of Top Producer with SunAmerica Securities (later known as AIG Financial Advisors, Inc.).

Greg Lowenberg

Greg Lowenberg

Vice President, Libertyville Savings Bank

Greg serves as Vice President at Libertyville Savings Bank in Fairfield. In addition to commercial lending duties he is part of the Loan Executive Team, Compliance Committee, and Executive Management Team. Greg graduated from Fairfield High School in 1980 and then graduated from the University of Iowa in 1984 with a bachelor's degree in finance. From there he began his banking career in Minneapolis, Minnesota as a bank examiner working for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency. Greg made the switch from examining to banking in 1990 and returned to Fairfield in 1995; He has been serving this area ever since. He is a graduate of the Iowa Bankers Commercial Lending School and the Iowa School of Banking.

Lowenberg is active with the Chamber of Commerce, where he has been a part of the local Ambassadors for the last 20 years. He has previously been involved on Boards of the local chapter Pheasants Forever and Habitat for Humanity. Lowenberg is a member of the Fairfield Golf & Country Club, Walton Club, Elks Lodge and Fairfield Friends Church. Greg, and wife June of 25 years, have two children, Kyla and Davis. W hen time permits, Greg enjoys hunting, fishing and an occasional round of golf.

"I am both excited and honored to serve on the FEDA board. In my line of profession we are constantly exploring ways to invest capital in order to improve and/or enhance the local lifestyle. I look forward to learning, through FEDA, other ways available to contribute to the betterment of Fairfield."

Daniel Sullivan

Foss, Kuiken, and Cochran, PC, Attorney

Tim is an attorney at Foss, Kuiken, & Cochran, P.C. (FK&C) and has been practicing law since 1976. FK&C is a 31 year old "general practice" law firm located in the heart of Fairfield, Iowa within walking distance of the Jefferson County Courthouse. The partners believe it is their duty to give back to the community and as such, sit on numerous boards and support many worthy causes.

Tim was born in the Elk Horn-Kimballton, Iowa area and raised in Atlantic, Iowa. He went on to study law at the University of Iowa. He is an active member of the Fairfield community and his church; he has served with the Fairfield Jaycees, Fairfield Public Library, Fairfield Lions Club, Fairfield Golf & Country Club.  Tim is married to Jamie and they have five children and two grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys activities with his family, reading, golf, basketball, music and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Ed Malloy

Ed Malloy

City of Fairfield, Mayor

Ed Malloy was elected Mayor in 2001 and is in his third term. He served on the Fairfield City Council form 1992–2000. Mayor Malloy is also President of Danaher Oil Company — a fuel brokerage operation that began in Fairfield 1983. Mr. Malloy was one of the founding-members of the Fairfield Entrepreneurs Association in 1989. He serves on the board of the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation, Iowans for a Better Future and the Iowa State University Extension Citizen Advisory Council.

John A. Morrissey

John A. Morrissey, Legal Counsel

John was raised and educated in Black Hawk County, Iowa. After high School in Waterloo, he attended the University of Northern Iowa, graduating in History Pre-Law. John attended Iowa College of Law at the University of Iowa, Iowa City, graduating with a Juris Doctor in 1971.

In 1973, after 32 months of Federal Defender work with South Dakota Indian Legal Services, John joined in the firm Kelly & Morrissey in Fairfield, Iowa. John has maintained a private law practice ever since. His firm has always worked in trial and general practice, personal injury, commercial, probate, real estate, criminal and family law and has mentored more than 30 interns over the past 40 years. John was involved in County Attorney responsibilities for almost 18 years and has been Fairfield's City Attorney since January 1991.

John has been behind the scenes in innumerable community organizations since the 1970s. He believes strongly in Fairfield's greatest wealth - its Citizen Involvement. Every year he works with non-profits and tax-exempt organizations; FEDA has always been a favorite. He helped organize incorporate and gain tax status for the Greater Jefferson County Foundation in 1975 and similarly, the Fairfield Economic Development Association in 1977 and has stayed involved with both as General Counsel and sometimes Director, ever since. In the past ten years he has been part of organizing, and on the Board of Directors of, both the Fairfield Park and Recreation Foundation and the Carnegie Museum Foundation. He continues to stay involved wiht a multitude of other local and area civic groups.

"Fairfield and Jefferson County signify quality living, citizen friendliness and participation, intellectual stiumulation, career enhancement and the best things for family living," says John. John and his wife Nancy are pleased that three of their blended family of grown sons and daughters have preferred to reside in Fairfield and that it is always the "hometown" for the out-of-towners.

Jeff Clawson

City of Fairfield, City Administrator

Jeff Clawson, The City Administrator of Fairfield, Iowa, is responsible for coordinating city resources and personnel to provide necessary services to the citizens of the community and to administer policies as adopted by the elected officials of the City of Fairfield.

Mr. Clawson reports to the Mayor and the City Council. Some of his duties and functions of the Administrator include coordinating the overall management of the city by developing and recommending policies, plans and projects to the City Council for consideration, and coordinating activities and communications between departments.

He also assists the City Council in developing an annual budget by coordinating the collection of departmental information relating to capital improvements, staffing and facilities; coordinating budget review meetings and public meetings. He also resolves complaints, problems or concerns with city services, programs or policies by meeting with the public to clarify concerns and coordinate city efforts to correct the situation.

He has been married for 29 years to Elaine (Schrock) Clawson and has two children. One son, Kellen, and one daughter, Kirsten. He has worked for various levels of local government since 1985. Previous to Fairfield, he was the first administrator for Le Roy, IL for over 10 years.
